Leude, Leude! Bring out the champagne! 🥂
This year, I took the ‘new year, new me’ idea a bit more seriously. So first, I took a course about dinosaurs, obviously. But also: over the past few months, I’ve been navigating some big career changes, and I’m excited to finally share an update. After almost 15 years of working as a freelance publishing professional and translator, I’m excited to share that I’m stepping into a new full-time role as a production editor!
I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible clients on complex publishing and translation projects, and now I’m bringing that experience into a full-time position with a company that aligns with my skills, interests and expertise: Datagrafix GSP GmbH.
My role as production editor allows me to continue working on the types of projects I love while offering new challenges and opportunities for growth. (As well as actual colleagues, I cannot emphasize enough how ready I am for that! Really looking forward to being part of a team again.)
With this shift, I’ve made some updates to feminadocta.nl. While I’m no longer offering freelance services, I’m keeping my portfolio and blog active for those interested in my past work and ramblings industry insights. Docta’s Log will remain a space for occasional updates, though my more in-depth writing continues elsewhere: on Standort Hamburg, I will continue to explore Hamburg and share my best tips for a great city trip; and on Grave Affairs, we will continue to dive into historical true crime, funerary rituals, mystery, spycraft and more. You can, of course, also find me on LinkedIn.
I’m looking forward to this new chapter and everything it brings! If you’ve ever made a similar shift from freelancing to full-time work, I’d love to hear about your experience.
